Computer Science or Information Systems: Which is right for You?

Technology is always advancing. What is known as new now in the technology industry could be considered old in a matter of a few years. If you have a desire to be a part of the technology industry there are two degrees that you should consider.

One would be a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. If you find that you love the intricacies of how systems work, how information is assessed, and still enjoy interacting with people in business, this is the avenue for you.

The second is a degree in Computer Science. Computer Science is geared towards individuals that are interested in how technology systems are built, how to change the way a program is viewed by manipulating code and don’t really care for much social interaction. Choosing a degree in Information Systems or Computer Science could decide if you will be working with a computer or both computers and people, for the remainder of your career.

Before you make your choice, take a look at the differences between the two degrees illustrated in the infographic below.
